MariMed is monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in the U.S. and proactively working across each of our business units to minimize its impact on the supply chain. Our first priority is to ensure medical cannabis patients continue to have access to the medicine they need at a time when they may be especially vulnerable. While we have not yet experienced significant disruption to our core cannabis business, we recognize this is an evolving situation and providing continuity of access to safe and clean medicine for our patients is paramount.
MariMed management is coordinating with each of its regional teams to implement localized plans at our licensed facilities to minimize disruption to these operations, as well as to support the safety of all employees and contractors.
Among other policies, we have implemented emergency-handling processes, including increasing the frequency of all cleaning and sanitization efforts, that allow us to continue supporting all customers’ and patients’ needs, as well as the employees and contractors that service them. All employees have been fully briefed on these procedures and we have also put into place measures to ensure that all employees have additional resources, systems, and tools they need to stay safe and follow public health guidance.
All of our employees and clients have been asked to reconsider nonessential domestic and international business travel. Additionally, for employees that are able to work remotely, we have placed restrictions on in-person meetings, company events, and more.
MariMed is also closely monitoring updates from regulatory agencies in each of its respective markets to stay within compliance with all emergency measures as they are enacted. Despite the current challenges, we aim to continue to provide our services while minimizing disruption and maintaining the quality of our products.
MariMed and its employees remain committed to following the guidance and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization and our local health departments, and will continue to do so until the risk subsides.
We will continue to proactively communicate any relevant information on COVID-19 as it becomes available and encourage our patients, customers, employees, shareholders and partners to stay healthy and safe during this challenging time.
